Matilda’s
is inspired by the Montessori Method where the early childhood education
cultivates the child’s natural desire to learn. This is achieved
by allowing the excitement of learning by choice and independence and
by providing order and calm, in an interesting and stimulating environment
that develops children’s curiosity and challenge.
The program provides children with planned and spontaneous
activities that promote all areas of child development; where learning
outcomes are gained through a combination of informal and structured
learning experiences. These Learning outcomes are linked to the Federal
Governments National Early Years Learning Framework.
The environment is designed to resemble
a child’s home with child sized furniture and real objects. The
main emphasis is placed on independence skills in all areas particularly
those of a social nature, care of self, eating, care of belongings,
the environment and on mutual respect.

The
children are free to work at their own level and interest and can share
their discoveries and achievements without fear of competition. Repetition
of activities is considered an integral part of the learning process,
and children are allowed to repeat activities as often as they wish.
Our staff will observe each child through play, we understand
how to enhance and extend their skills through creative learning programs
that aim to meet the educational, developmental and emotional needs
of each child.
